The WTCDW Languages Institute currently trains language and translator and interpreter skills to English and Arabic speakers.

The Translation Department is accepting resumes for current and future translator and interpreter career opportunities in the Detroit metropolitan area and worldwide. Those candidates willing to travel to Iraq or Afghanistan can be placed in work situations immediately if they meet the below requirements. These jobs pay a salary of $170,000+/year.

Careers in translation and interpretation are positions of trust requiring access to sensitive and proprietary communications. Aspirants will undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, and their resumes will be previewed by government agencies and corporate clients.

Currently, career opportunities are available for translators and interpreters with "advanced" (college entrant proficiency or LPT "level 4") reading, listening and speaking skills in both English and any of Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, Turkoman or Pashtu. Aspirants for these career opportunities must be U.S. citizens, eligible for "Secret" level security clearances and clearable to "Top Secret".
